Cocktail of the Week: Maple BBQ Caesar
Bacon makes a great addition to a Caesar’s rimmer. There can't be a better reason to try this maple BBQ caesar recipe, courtesy of Mott's Clamato. Just run the bits through a food processor and add to the steak spice rim. Knots of maple bacon (which you can make at home with strips of raw bacon tied in knots and then cooked in a frying pan or in the oven on parchment paper and slathered with maple BBQ sauce) make an excellent complementary garnish.
There is no better post-hangover brunch-time uber Canadian drink?
● 1 oz (30 mL) Canadian whisky
● 1 tsp (5 mL) maple-flavoured BBQ sauce
● 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
● 2 dashes hot sauce
● 3 grinds fresh cracked salt & black pepper
● 4 oz (130 mL) Mott’s Clamato Cocktail
● Montreal steak spice
● Knot of maple bacon on a skewer
● Fresh cracked black pepper
Here's how to make a maple BBQ Caesar at home:
Rim a highball glass with citrus and rimmer.
Fill the glass to the top with ice.
Add the ingredients in the order listed.
Stir well to mix the cocktail, and garnish.
If you don’t have maple-flavoured BBQ sauce, any other BBQ sauce will do the trick. To make the sauce easier to mix into the Caesar, thin it by diluting it with orange, apple, mango juice, or more whisky!
