Cocktail of the Week: Thai Chilli Caesar
Wednesday is National Caesar Day, as if you needed a reason to have a drink.

National Caesar Day is just around the corner, which means it’s time to brush up on your bartending skills. In order to pay proper tribute to Canada’s national cocktail, you’ll want to try this amped-up version of the classic drink. The beauty of a Caesar is its versatility, so Canadian Grey Goose Ambassador Stephanie Lamb shared a few tips on how to spice it up. She suggests getting creative with the rims and drawing inspiration from your favourite cuisines and flavours. What about a sushi-inspired rim with sesame seeds, salt and panko crumbs? Or truffle salt rim for something extra decadent? But our favourite is the Grey Goose Thai Caesar with chillies, sesame seeds and Togarashi.
Here’s how to try this at home.
1 Thai chilli, crushed
1/2 oz ponzu
2-3 dashes of rice vinegar
1/2 oz fresh cucumber juice
3 oz clamato juice
Muddle Thai chilli in your glass. And the rest of the ingredients. Add ice and stir, and ensure everything is combined.
Garnish: cucumber ribbons
Rim: sesame seeds & Togarashi spice mix.
